This blog is mostly to jog the memories of my husband and I, but intruders are certainly welcome.
Usually, trip blogs serve as tokens of an actual trip itself. In the case of this blog, I envision it actually holding more use for myself as a trip planning tool. It is certainly possible that it will come into use during our actual voyage, but I do not want to fall into the problem of being so beholden to documentation during the trip that the experience itself becomes secondary. Since the advent of pictures (especially digital), and perhaps even since the advent of journaling (which probably has existed from the beginning of time), the struggle between the actual experience and its documentation to aid one's memory duing the passing of years (or to share such memories with others) has loomed.
First and foremost then, this blog is dedicated to how the heck Matt and I will get ourselves to Santiago de Compostela from the banks of the Ohio River in Covington, KY in the most cost-effective, penitential spirit possible. This is about Pilgrimage.
